Give P. willinckii bright light and warmth. The silvery felt on the fronds looks best in good light, but like all staghorn ferns it wants diffused light rather than direct sun.
Leave the felt alone. The fine white hairs cut water loss, so do not wipe them, and do not peel off the old brown shield fronds either.
The slender fertile fronds droop up to a metre, so give them room to hang. Withering at the frond tips is natural.
P. willinckii is a pup-forming species, and its hybrids with other pup-forming species usually are too, though how many pups a plant makes varies with conditions and from plant to plant. See staghorn fern pups and dividing and how to mount a staghorn fern.
Like all staghorn ferns they are epiphytes: grow them mounted on a board or in a basket, never in soil. Light, temperature, humidity and watering at a glance: staghorn fern care quick reference. Full care notes: The Platycerium Textbook.
